Summer Coolers | Maternity Clothes | Fairy's Tales

Today I am 28+2 weeks

I was going to do this post on Wednesday, but after an accident with a hot chocolate last week and one of the dresses I had to wait for it to come back from my mother-in-law! Luckily the stain is pretty much almost out, good enough to wear and hopefully after a few more washes it'll be all gone! Yay.

Anyway, these are just a few pieces that I've been wearing since the weather has been warm(er) and currently all but one of these items are now in the ASOS sale!

First up is this lilac skater dress with a pocket. It's a speckled material which I couldn't quite capture in the photos. I'm not usual a fan of high necked anything because it's just not flattering on my boobs, but with the slight round neck it isn't too high and I really like it. I bought a size 10 which is a little looser than I would like, but with my ever expanding belly at least I know it will last me all summer long. It was £25 but is now currently £12 in the sale and comes in 2 colours! (Link)

This is said "hot chocolate dress" absolute disaster! Luckily for me it was the very last dregs of the cup! I was just about to throw the cup in the bin and was slurping the last sip and it went everywhere! All the way down the dress. Horrific! Thankfully my mum had a hoody with her that she wasn't wearing so I chucked that on top and hid away from the world! Again I bought this in a size 10 which is a bit big on me. I thought this dress was going to be very similar to my Elephant Print dress, however the material of this one is much lighter and more flowy (is flowy even a real word?). It's also higher in the back with a sweetheart neckline. There is a double insert over the boobs which you can just about see in the pictures, doesn't quite reach the bottom of mine! It sits just under my nipples, but that's not a dress fault. This dress was originally £20 - comes in 4 different colours and now starts from £10! Absolute bargain, I'm tempted to buy all the colours! (Link)

Lastly is this combination. I bought this red stripe dress from Primark quite a while ago. When I bought it I could wear it as a dress by it's self (it's not maternity so there's not much give in the material) but as my bump has got bigger I've been pairing it with these scalloped edge linen shorts. These are so comfortable with an under bump maternity band in a silky material so it's really lovely and soft! Although the shorts in black are still full price on the website the same shorts in white are £10! I originally wanted the white pair anyway but thought better of it. If the hot chocolate episode was bad, who knows what would have happened with bright white shorts! (Link Black Link White)

I hope you enjoyed this and it gave you some sort of inspiration of how to keep a little cooler in these summer months!

Speak soon,

Exciting Weeks | Fairy's Tales

Today I am 20 weeks 5 days

I know, I know; I've been slacking! I don't know why but every Wednesday it comes to writing a new blog post and I just cannot be bothered! I don't know if it's because I write these on my iPad and I don't have a proper keyboard so typing on here seems to take soooo long but I really lack motivation! But enough is enough, I might just bite the bullet and buy a Bluetooth keyboard and stand so it's more like a laptop, we'll see!

Anyway, a lot has happened since my last post, the most important thing being that my lovely boyfriend, the father of my child got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was very romantic but I will not divulge into the details because it's nice to keep thing private.
The second exciting thing that happened the day after the engagement was that Lee felt the baby moving! I'd been feeling movement from around the 19th of April, just little taps that I totally wasn't sure if it was or not. Everyone seems to say it feels like butterflies and that was not the case at all. It felt like I was being flicked. Lee was away the evening I first felt it but on the 25th of April after we'd just been out to an amazing Indian restaurant we were lying on the settee and I could feel the monkey wriggling around and amazingly Lee got to feel it too. Since then he's felt a kick one other time and we've both seen my belly wave and judder (not just because of the chub). I like that he can experience this too, especially as to start with I wasn't sure if what I was feeling was in my own head!!

The 3rd excitement since I've been MIA was of course our 20 week scan. Now, we haven't found out the sex because to me it really doesn't matter; In fact I may post a whole blog on that. So if anyone out there thinks they're an expert on telling what the sex of a baby is by looking at scans I'd appreciate if you just kept your mouths shut (hormonal mother bitch here - seriously I will get you). Everything is fine with the little being, however during the scan my bladder was soooo full I could barely walk into the room let alone get onto the bed, plus the pressure of the machine, ugh, it was awful! We were in there for a good 30-40 minutes before they let me empty my bladder because the baby was in an awkward positition. Once I'd emptied my bladder, surprise surprise, the baby had turned and they could get all the heart measurements and face etc! I could have told them that!!
Anyway! This has been a text heavy post, I am sooo sorry! I won't leave it so long next time! I have to go and make tea now so I will speak to you all next week!

First Trimester | Symptoms and lack of!

Today I Am: 14 Weeks
So as I briefly mentioned in my first post I have suffered from little to no symptoms in this first trimester, and as so many people say the 2nd trimester is where everything starts to calm down so but the looks of things I may have gotten away with it!

Now that's not to say I haven't experienced anything at all; about two weeks ago I woke up and left it a little bit too late before getting myself breakfast, (the woes of living in a shared house and having to make yourself slightly presentable before you rock up to the kitchen!!), I started to feel a bit funny and queasy. Sure enough as soon as I got out of bed I had an overwhelming urge to be sick, ran to the loo but of course...you can't throw up on an empty stomach! So that was that. I went and ate some cereal and felt fine! My one tip for any pregnant mummy's, eat whenever you feel hungry! Don't wait...don't feel stupid for wanting a snack, and don't listen to people if they tell you not to eat what you want. If all you can think about is Indian food, get some! As long as you aren't eating anything dangerous don't be too harsh on yourself!

The only other side effect I've had is a pain in my left side, not a constant pain but as I've described to Lee and my sister it feels like a headache in my side. It's not the same as a stomach ache, there's no feeling sick it just aches. A bit like a stitch but less stubby. So I promise you, if you're feeling this it is just your ligaments stretching. Mine started as early as 6 weeks which is crazy considering your tiny baby is so little, but it's just your uterus getting ready and making room; your body knows what it needs to do straight away even if it is your first pregnancy. Of course, I googled this pain and 80% of the advice was telling me that I had an ectopic pregnancy. If you are experiencing agonising cramps and pains that are stopping you doing day to day activities go to your doctor. Google is your enemy in the first weeks of pregnancy!

It is the most worrying time and when you have no distinguishable symptoms, I don't know about you, but I did think the worst and I was so paranoid thinking that if I wasn't being sick or feeling knackered 24/7 nothing was working properly. Alas my little monkey was there, with it's feet up, little heart beating and s/he even gave us a little wave!

I'm also on Bloglovin now so click on the button to the side to follow me over there so you never miss a post!

Little Fairy Bump

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11973885/?claim=7gqx6xremy4">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>
Good morning everyone!
As some of you may know from Twitter I am expecting a little baby! I'm currently 13 weeks 1 day - which for those of you who want things in months, that's 3!
I wanted to start this blog because the last 7 weeks have been a nightmare of worrying for me.
I have suffered absolutely no pregnancy symptoms at all, no tiredness, no sickness, none of the typical "First Trimester" woes that so many women suffer; and it's been hard! I have looked everywhere for blogs and vlogs from mums that have had the same experience as I have and I couldn't find anyone at all. Everyone I have come across has complained about nausea and an overwhelming exhaustion and I really haven't had it at all.

It's been scary, especially when you hear people say that the sickness just means that everything is working away and it proves your body is working; as a pregnant woman who hasn't experienced it, that is the last thing you want to hear! So I've decided to write this blog about my experiences, there must be so many mummy's to be out there that are going through the same thing as me, and a tiny bit of reassurance is something we all need when our emotions are a little bit more heightened than normal!

So this is my first little introduction, and hopefully I will get weekly posts up and I'll try and make it not so mummy all the time!

Anyway that's all for this post, I will leave you with a picture of my little monkey chilling out!
